Computer Science Week

Posted On Monday December 06, 2021

Computer Science Week will be celebrated the week of December 6 - 12, 2021. This is a global week-long event!

Elementary students will be engaged in activities and learning throughout this week. Students will have the opportunity to be producers with technology, rather than just consumers. Students will also be presented with real-life ways to use code, including ways to mitigate climate change and to reduce home energy usage.

During this week, students, staff and families are also invited to get involved in an Hour of Code event. Hour of Code began as a one-hour introduction to computer science to teach the basics of code and broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities and expanding to various community activities and events. Further information can be found on the Hour of Code website.
